Game Report/Analysis declares Sacrificial knight is best.

So I'm curious if anyone else is encountering this issue... Often when reviewing my game analysis, the computer says my move was a mistake or blunder(which it often is) and declares the best* move was one in which it throws my knight somewhere on the board that is certain to get the knight captured with no strategic advantage whatsoever. Typically i notice that in these situations there aren't many good options for a good move but I just cant see how, in any of the situations, killing my knight would help... Has anyone else noticed this or am I missing genuinely missing something..? I understand its not easy to pinpoint anything specific without an example but its happening so often I'm almost sure im not the only one and my bigger question is why would such a good system/algorithm have this issue..???

If you have some actual examples of this, you should post them. Chess is a very concrete game, and the specific details of a position can be critically important. No one can answer your general question, but we might be able to help with specific examples
