Games of Analysis Tournament - 2

Sort:
sanath9999

Hello all,

I am running two tournaments of 5 players each for the rating ranges 1001-1200 and 1201-1400. I had promised to analyse all the games in both the tournaments.

Tournament-2 has started and I will post the analysis of completed games here in this forum. The link for the tournament-2 is given below.

Unfortunately, tournament-1 has not yet started because only one player is registered and other 4 spots are still vacant. If you are within the rating range 1001-1200, then you can join the tournament and have fun playing and you will get your games analysed by me. Here is the link for the tournament-1.

Analysis of games of tournament-2 will be posted here. For tournament--1, I will start a separate forum for it. Stay tuned for the analysis of the games. Already 3 games are finished and I am lagging behind in my analysis. Today I will post the analysis of two games.

Good job on your first analysis.

Thanks! Corrected the link in comment # 1.

Yes... If 18 ...Ra7, then 19. Nf6+ looks winning for white. Black's position is very bad and defending the position is almost impossible.

One more game is completed. I will analyse it tomorrow.

sanath9999

Please go through the analysis and if I have missed anything, then please share your thoughts. Your feedback will be helpful for improving my analysis for next games.

How am I doing with my analysis? Is there anything that I can improve? Please let me know your suggestions.

40. Nf4+ would have won the game for white even quicker! I missed that move in the analysis.

Already 7 games are completed. I have analysed only 4 games. I will post the analysis of the remaining 3 games tomorrow.

With 7... qa5, the pin... it's makes a certain amount of sense in that it's a "tactic" but it's wrong strategically. The sort of rookie mistake that makes it useful to have a stronger player analyse your games.

Nice analysis.

sanath9999

Yes its a pin, but there is no use of pinning that knight and after Bd2 the queen has to move again losing another tempi. If black had first played Nf6 then Qa5 would have made some sense because it is pinning the knight which is defending the e4 pawn. But with no such tactic available, just pinning and retreating loses time.
