Graphical Game Annotation Tools

What tools are very good for graphical chess game annotation?

What is your opinion on tools you used?

I don't have any tool for annotation but I am willing to buy one if necessary. Unfortunately the manuals are not so talkative.

By "graphical chess annotation" I mean any coloured highlighting of move, pieces, squares.
Customizing the highlighting would be even better!
A bonus would be customized annotations particularly with symbols like Wingdings.

Why am I asking this?
IMO graphical annotations are directing my awareness to the most relevant issues in a game. With such a tool at hand I would be easier to rehearse games of me and others and compare them to masters' games.

I could identify following analysis tools explicitly:
  • Chess Assistant
  • Aquarium
  • ChessBase
  • Shredder
  • HIARCS Chess Explorer
  • Canvas Chess
  • Chess King
  • Arena
Do you know any others?
What tool has features you deem particularly useful?

I am not looking for chess engines because they can be combined with analysis tools.

You could also use pdf annotation, but that's more time consuming of course.

Anyway, why do you need another tool? isn't one of those enough? they're all pretty good. (I use chessbase)
