In my quest to play more positionally, I've been avoiding gambit lines, even in blitz games. I'm glad that I'm comfortable playing gambits, because I'm not too shy to pull the trigger with timely sacrifice when it presents itself in a closed and positional game. This was the case in the game I present to you here.

It seems like people seem to mix up playing positionally and playing to close the position. I would say playing positionally is doing things like developing all your pieces before attacking. But you never developed your rooks. Also, you can play gambits positionally. Not every gambit line is about throwing away pawns to try to mate the king.

You weren't happy with 11. Nh4. When you look at the position after move 10, the striking thing about your position is that your rooks aren't participating. The most natural things are to castle and look for what open files there will be.

I think black missed 16. ... Rxg5. Where 17. Nxg5 Qxg5 gets two knights for the rook and 17. Qxh6 can be met by either the safe 17. ... Rg8 or the pawn grab 17. ... Rxg2, which I like.
