In game #1, white is playing my opening style: Ignore Black and just develop. However, at move 6, I would have played d5. If 6. ... exd5 7. exd5 knight moves 8. d6, and Black's dark bishop is blocked in, though the light bishop is already fianchetoed, so it is not as strong of a line.
14. ... Bf8 challenges White's stronger bishop with Black's weaker bishop. If no exchange is made, Bg7 can be played by Black, to target pawns on that diagonal.
16. Bg7 Nxf3+ 17. Qxf3 Re8 is interesting, and maybe Qxf7, though that does not win much, takes the queen out of play, and takes White off the queen side attack.
18. Black obviously blundered. Qd6 looks better. 19. ... Qxb4 attacks the rook, buying time, and black can still block a check with Bc6 afterwards.
20 ...Kc7??? White wins the game with 21. Bf4. 21. Rc1? Fails to checkmate in two moves with 21. Bf4+ Qe5 22. Bxe5#. Black should have blocked the check with Bb7 and lost a pawn to the queen. Black's queen could have retreated to block the check from white's queen.
22. Qc2 is an obvious blunder. I would have tried 22. Qe2 followed by 23. Bg7, attacking the rook on h8 and preparing for Be5#
26. Ra1 Qa7 27. Qc6+ Kb8 28. Rb1+ Qb7 29. Qxb7#
(if any move other than 26. ...Qa7 27. Bc8+ discovered check from rook ...Qa7 28. Qxa7#)
