8 Re1 is the wrong plan. Better develop the knight first 8 Nbd2.
10 e4? was the aim of 8 Re1, but 10 cxd5 gives play against the isolated queen's pawn d5.
14 Nd2? is passive and blocks the diagonal of Bc1. Better 14 Nh4.
21 Bf1? f4 would give black an irresistible attack.
