8. ...Nd7 would stop 9. e5. Perhaps playing ...e5, although it feels a little unsafe until you are castled, but you can probably get away with it. Also, it's pretty obvious you should castle kingside at this point, so I recommend just doing it against a strong opponent so you can focus on attack, rather than king safety.
After that, you just lucked out on the queenside castle. I think you did have to trade away a piece or two to stay alive, but when you are down 3 pawns, you are going to need something on the board to catch up with. But as I said, the game was pretty much lost following move 8.
