White is getting toast either way.(black is threatening either Nxf3 or Bxf3 busting open the kinside if white moves the queen off to any square) But at least with Rxd4 white won't get his King exposed and has some good material for the queen. For humans at less- than-Master level that position might even be playable.
Help with computer analysis
I tend to agree with both of you - but I would really like to get to the bottom of it.If someone can help that will be great.
Taking Fiveofswords' cue,1.Qxd7 Bxf3 2.gxf3 Nxf3+ 3.Kg2 Qf6
White's mate is far away even after these 3 moves - can anyone see how black can convert any advantage he has?Black can attack f2 pawn but that can be saved.
Honestly ,I do not see this advantage worthy of surrendering queen. But if computer is saying so,we need to investigate.
Well, most programs don't give just a single move for their analysis, but give an entire line, do you still have the whole line that the computer gave? That might shed some light on your question of why the computer thought it was a good move.
I played a live chess blitz game recently and this position came after 16 moves.I got this game analysed by computer.
Computer says next best move for white is 17.Rxd4 .This just surrenders the queen to bishop at b7.Queen can be easily moved to e5 or c4.
What am I missing?Thanks!
