Thanks for the analysis. I must review the books collecting dust
Hey everyone! I'm a Master willing to help analyze players' games for free. Is anyone interested?

A 4th video is now posted! Thanks to Orion for the game. The analysis can be found on the Videos page of chesspathways.com

And now a 5th video is posted on https://chesspathways.com
Thanks to everyone sending games in! Getting to as many as I can.

Hi Blakey b,
here's a game with 15min time control. I played black. I think it was a king's gambit which i had no idea how to play against so it might be instructive for beginners

Hi BlakeyB,
many thanks indeed for the great video and analysis of my game! I can echo what everyone else here is saying that BlakeyB's advice and analysis is really clear and easy to follow. Importantly, it's also very practical - there are several points in the analysis of this game I can immediately incorporate into my future games.
I've signed up for the mailing list - good luck with http://chesspathways.com, looks like it's gonna b great!
If you have time I have a quick follow up regarding the game. At 7.38mins in the video / move 11 you suggest an alternative sequence to the Knight sacrifice. It's clearly a way better line than what I played but I have two questions about your suggested sequence (11...Nxd2, 12 Bxd2, f6)
1) why exchange the knight first? Isn't my knight on e4 a stronger piece than his knight. Plus it's helping to block out his light squared bishop.
2) a general question about the f pawn. How do you analyse when it's ok to push the f pawn? I know in general it's a risky move as it weakens your king protection. How do you make the determination? Especially as in this case the light square bishop is still on the board leaving the King exposed when the f pawn's pushed.

Thanks for the positive feedback! To answer your questions:
1) I don't have the game in front of me right now, but if I remember correctly, didn't white just play Nbd2, attacking your knight on e4 a second time? I think if you don't address this and play ...f6 right away, white can just take twice on e4 and win a pawn - am I right about that, or am I misremembering something?
2) This is hard to answer in general . It comes with experience, and each position has to be considered independently, but in the position from your game it didn't look too easy for white to just organize a quick mating attack along the b1-h7 diagonal. Also, the fact that you still has your light bishop makes me a little less worried about the horrible weakened light squares around your king. That said, it's still not an ideal move to have to play in that position...but it's the best of bad options. It's risky to play ...f6, sure, but it's a lot better than giving up a piece!

Please annotate your game.
It helps me give better feedback when the game is annotated! Nothing fancy required, just your thoughts after each move.

I am not the best at knowing the website so I don't know how to annotate and don't give me a video I can't watch them due to my dad computer block

Oh, on the analysis tool, you can just right-click a move and hit "add comment after," to share your thoughts after each move.

I'm pretty sure the mobile app doesn't even allow players to use the "Insert Game" widget, let alone add comments to it. Of course, they could use a REAL internet browser instead...

Oh, yeah, that's unfortunate - it'd be hard to do game analysis on mobile, I've never tried it.

I take it that the game I submitted (in post #15 of this thread) is a bit too up-scale for what you had in mind?

It was an interesting game - I just don't know if I'm the most qualified to give analysis on a sharp opening line of an opening I don't play, at the near-master level . That said I'm hoping to get to as many of these as I can, but I'm prioritizing games where I feel like I can provide the most value in my analysis.

Hi. Is this the same for my game? post 38

Thanks for putting this back on my radar, I'll take a look when I can!
Bong, there are lots of critical blunders by both parties, I thought it was blitz, but surprised that it was in fact a daily game.
1. In early middle game, you have pawn majority on king side with 4v3 but you dont work on your pawn majority. The plan should be pushing king side pawns as fast as possible. g4 ! is interesting, followed by Nh4,Nxh4, h3 then f4 push. So, 13.. h3 ?? make no sense .
2. 22. b4??? Wrong strategy, no point exchanging his double pawn and leaving 3v2 potential passed pawn on other side.
4.... Rxc5?? blunder
50...Kf6?? major blunder in simple winning endgame!!
