lol for example this guy: @ArkadiyKhromaev 3333 rated in bullet - higher rated than hikaru - 2800 blitz 2400 rapid currently is not even an cm (though I'm sure he could get it if he wanted it...)

Simply because, unlike you, some people can receive a title.

His standard OTB rating is 2050, which is not enough to get any title.

Actually its already enough for WCM if the person in question is female.

And its "only" 150 points away from regular CM.

Well, I believe that bots on chess.com are overrated. At least some are around the ratings I have. Can that be seen as one of the reasons why chess.com ratings are not reliable or they are as we get ratings by competing with others?

This is completely offtopic here. Also doesn't make any sense.

Because he only plays Ultra Hyperbullet?

If you are unrated have a lot of money you could get yourself a title in a single 11 round event if you organised it yourself - you would have to invite and pay a bunch of 2300+ rated players and ensure they are all willing to give you a draw in the round they play.

you then send the results in to FIDE, wait for your new 2300 rating to appear and then claim a FM title for yourself - it will likely cost several thousand pounds in hiring a venue, equipment, arbiters, player expenses etc...

Get a title by obvious cheating. It surely will work, what can go wrong? grin.png

That being said, I wonder, is there some kind of a minimum number of games requirement, because of cases like this? Something like, you have to keep the rating above 2 200 for the let's say first 30 games or something like that, in order to qualify for the CM title.

OutOfCheese

There's a minimum of 30 FIDE rated games played.

That is good to know. Interesting. Then I either saw that 30 games minimum somewhere and forgot about it, but my subconscious mind didn't, or I got the number right by accident. happy.png
