26 Be5 seems to be a convenient move which works due to some tactics. In this position it makes sense to trade bishops since yours is not very good in this structure. If 26. Be5 Rxe4 you have Bxg3 and if Rxe8 Bxf2+ wins a piece. So with that being said white either takes your bishop and helps you develop, or you can take on g3 and if fxg3 you have a passed e pawn and otherwise, you will have good play on the f file.

It's been said that even a bad plan is better than no plan at all. That doesn't apply to this game. I had the dumb idea of chasing the London bishop around, wasting too many tempi, and then I played the middlegame just as poorly. This was a Daily Chess game with three days to make a move, so I can't blame time pressure for my poor play. I was Black in this game, but I don't know how to post a game so that it is shown from Black's perspective.
