I assume that's an example of tactics practice. The odd thing about tactics is that they don't conform to general guidelines as most of each chess game does, so you have to mentally figure out the best continuation. The idea is that after enough such puzzles, a person becomes better at tactics. I see there is a hint button there. Are you asking how to solve it? As you asking what you are supposed to learn from it?

Look at the position and see if there's a way to checkmate the black king. If you can see it, you'll find the winning move.
can someone explain this to me? I am totally lost. This is an example of a combination on this site that is supposed to teach me something, but I just don't get it.
