He seems to be concerned about your wild attacking ways.  How he got to 1800 is suspicious, as someone that high on this site should not fall for any tricks, or be scared of any empty threats which is what I saw you do all over the board.  Good job on your win, he was scared of you.

Why wouldnt they fall for tricks? I am 1700 and I fall for tricks and blunders pieces all the time. I dont think I would magical stop that if I gained +100 rating.

We're talking about a 600 rating point difference.  Any "trick" that a 1200 comes up with should be easy to see for someone at 1800.  I'm about 1300 in bullet and someone 600 rating points below me is not going to "trick" me unless they are a strong player who sandbagged their rating.

I can talk from my own view. That I would most likely see tricks that I have seen before. But I have seen games from 1300 people that had nice tricks that I have never seen before. Because the tricks came from an opening I never play.

And 1300 can watch youtube as well as me so they can study new lines and tricks that they look for in their next game. And if I have not seen it before or if I am not paying attention to it I might fall for it.

Also worth noting is that my puzzle rating has not increase much while my Rapid rating increased from 1300 to 1700.

I was laughing about Nd7 without developing the light square bishop to f5 first but then I realized is the second most popular move lol. Whenever I play white in Caro I usually go for fantasy variation or advance but maybe I should give a chance to classical. Also, as a regular Caro-kann player with black I'm glad I never played the line like this before because without seeing this post I would most likely had fallen for the trick.

If you didnt know Nd7 is the MAIN LINE

Actually the main line branches off into the classical variation and the Karpov variation with either Bf5 or Nd7, with Bf5 being 3 times as common
