ICCF Group/Unrated play

I have played correspondence chess for around 40years. I held a masters rating long before computers that played chess were thought of. I recently entered the International Correspondence Chess Federation , after a 20 year absence because of my profession as an offshore commercial diver. I got my butt kicked there and found out to my dismay that my opponents where using Fritz and databases! I complained to Max Zavanelli . The response was they can not police it so they made it legal. Now every time I win a game some dirty birdy ask me if I cheated! Owe that is OK now!? I really resent any comments like that. So I was told to accept their rules and just play as I always have. I found out my endgames needed work as I had one Russian tell me it was mate in 30 moves! I am a dinosaur and did not know there was a database for solved endgames! Holy smokes!!///

OK , well I started playing again there and still do not use an engine to make my moves but I have used the blunder checker and yes I changed some moves and saved some games. What I propose here is a group for serious analysis and chess play UNRATED! I want the group to test and research any opening , ending , theory they want to. This will not be a ego based ELO hunt with money or gold plastic trophies online. That will be for ICC or real time chess-play where you are playing a real game with a clock running which is cool but that is Not what this group is about. This will be the world of chess analysis. So bring on your processors, databases , or your GM.cousin from timbuktu and lets pick your favorite variations and find out where Karpov ot Topolov or Capablanca error ed and make it good. Don`t be afraid of the new chess engines as most of them are bean counters and they do not understand fortress building or many transitions into endgames along with many other strategies. But tactically they are what they say they are. They know tactics!! I learned the hard way a many a time.

Remember that this type of play will be unrated and only a learning and research tool to help you get better at chess and increase your OTB and rated correspondence play here or USCF or anywhere. Do not use your engines on this website in regular games or face the embarrassment of having your mugshot added to murders row of cheating losers! I am new to organising groups so any help I can get then Please do. By the way , I quit chessworld.net as they are big into censoring everything and none of their business! I would ask that we speak to each other with respect and honor.

This is very interesting to me. I enjoy analysis. I'm sure I don't know how to get the most out of my engines, or my DB. There is an art to the use of either. Seems like a good way to improve some skills. Where do I sign?

Well I asked my bud about how he set up his Vets group and he will fill me in on it. I will add you to my friends list and when we get the group up and running I will get back to you. Yes I am still learning how to work my chessbase and fritz and I am having allot of fun with it. We will have workshops on their use as well. Like I said It`s a learning process all the time.
