(-0.65) and the other are the software's way of showing the relative strength of the position (-mat01) means black mates in 1, (mat01) means white mates in 1.
generally a minus sign denotes black and a + denotes white. the nos. such as (-0.65) are taken relative to the value of a pawn (which is 1) so if you're losing by (9.00) then ur practically losing by a queen.
+- denotes decisive adv to white and -+ denotes decisive to black.
a + with a - underneath denotes clear adv to white and a - with + under denotes clear adv to black.
a + with an = sign under means minor adv to white and a = with + under means minor adv to black
and = sign means equal game
! means good move, !! means excellent, usually game winning move.
? bad move, ?? blunder
!? interesting move, ?! dubious move or inaccuracy.
the rest isn't that relevent
Hi,
I've started analysing my games and learning some good stuff. I don't quite understand the comments such as (-0.65) or (-Mat01) though - can anyone help me with these comments? I'm assuming it is something to do with relative strength of my position?
Thanks
