I dont think so. You lose 2 points of material and it is easy to take advantage of

Its a big pile of nonsense. Rarely ever you get compensation for a piece sacrifice right out of the opening.

This was a racist comment by a below average racist British GM made at a time when a handful of IRA soldiers were outwitting and defeating the Mighty British army and all is pervasive surveillance. I believe in Ireland they call it the British gambit alongside its mighty sister 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Qg4!!! and white castles long and wins.
