The sacrifice in question is on move 14, and I gave it a dubious (?!) mark.

yes, I agree... Black did not really understand the ideas behind the french and quickly ended up in an inferior position by trading his important f8 bishop.

14.Qa3 doesn't look as appealing as 14.Qd6 to me.
Why not 31...Kg8
on move 31,what happens if black plays 31...Kg8 intead of 31...Kg6?
