King, Bishop, and Knight vs King (Please Help)

You should have been able to corral the king from along the edge (8th rank) into a8, the white square, since that is the color of your bishop and with only B+N you must mate in a white-squared corner (assuming best play from your opponent, which in this case didn't happen!). You let the king escape to the center, then you got lucky with a mate on the edge. B+N is a forced mate, though. (Try Q versus R, which is even trickier!)
