Losing won positions

I won't call it a winning position after move 25, but you have an advantage. However by exchanging your bishop on e6, you are weakening your pawn structure. Especially the new pawn on the e-file is extremely weak as shown by your opponent. Exchanging could be fine, especially if you have an advantage. However, it doesn't destroy your pawn structure or creates weak spots.
good point, I really could not figure out what to use that bishop for, maybe I shoul have considered my piece position before I thought I was winning
I am black in this game against a slightly higher rated opponent. I consider My position winning on move 15 as I do not think his development and bishop pair counts for more than my better structure and extra pawn.
move 21 f4 really caught me off gaurd and I played pathetically till I resigned on 32
I thought I was considerably better at 30. Nxc4 but stockfish evaluates it as dead equal. The continuation it shows to equality is pretty crazy though, I would never find it.. Nxc4 f4; gxf4 Bxh3; Rxe7!! the point is after RxR Nxd6 (deflecting the queen from protecting the bishop)
Anyway, I should have played simple 33. Ra2 and the game was still in balance.

It does hurt.
When you have an advantage, you have to be even more diligent in ensuring you play accurately. Remember, you opponent has nothing to lose in a losing position. You, on the other hand, have everything to lose.
I also thought you were better at move 30 and thought my f4 move was a practical chance. tough game for sure.
this next position was never won (as far as I know) but if anyone has any sugestions on how I could have played It better I'd love to hear it. Very painfull loss as this guy did not play well at first.
I have to think stronger players would win against this type of play easily.
As a side question, does anyone want to help me understand why players play garbage like this guy? I cant help but think he knows it is not very good.
so this is why people play like my opponent above make bad moves and then let me screw it up and then they can win.
I wanted to post a game where I actually finished off a great position
1. e4c6the accelerated pannov, been wanting to try it for a while
2. c4opponent decides that he doesn't want to go in for it. as a beginner all I wanted to do was crush players that ceded the center like this, now I understand it is not so simple.
2... d63. d4g64. Nc3Bg75. Nf3Nd76. Bg5Ngf67. Be2O-O8. O-OQc79. Qd2doesnt want to give up his dark squared bishop, I was not going to give up mine either though
9... Re810. Rac1c511. d5Ng412. h3Nge513. Nxe5Nxe5my chess self a year ago would be proud to see how easy it was to convert this position
14. f4Nd715. Rce1a616. Bh4Rb817. Bg3Qa518. Bd3b519. e5dxe520. fxe5here I thought for a second about sacing the knight but decided that the easiest way to play is just move it and let black deal with his problems
20... b421. Nd1Nb622. e6not sure the best way to win after this, I need to try to find best moves even in crushing positions. what I played was a rushed attempt to cement the win
22... fxe623. Bxb8exd524. Bc7Bb725. Qg5Bf626. Rxf6exf627. Rxe8+Kf728. Qe3here I at least found the forced mate
28... Kg729. Qe7+Kh630. Bf4+he actually resigned right after playing this move, not wanting to see
30... g531. Qxh7#
So a drawn game that was in reality a loss, and before that was mine to win.
Another reminder for me about all out attacks on the king, I need to be more dilligent in defense. People like this count on you missing winning moves (like Qc6) for their attacks to work.

JG, when i look at ur games i see cold methodical openings which transition into fiery balls out offence. During those transitions you miss opportunities. Maybe you should slow down a little on the offence/exchange of the peaces and keep position complecated as possible where your strenght as tactician and strategist will shine, or losen up and try aggresive openings.
The notes are not in the right parts of the game, I need to repost. thank you for your moves on my games, interesting stuff.
I find myself losing positions where I have a good advantage far to often. Nothing I hate more then losing to someone who played like garbage earlier in the game only to find cheap shots later.
My opponent missed the opportunity on move 28 to win with Bh3 and clearly Rb2 was a blunder. How can I convert my better positions more often?
