I'm pretty sure your sacrifice 8. Bxg5 was unsound, which is why you had such a rough ensuing game. I know that Black's exposed kingside diagonal after ...f6 was begging to be exploited, but I don't believe that was the proper way to exploit it. You were already 2 pieces ahead in development at that point, Black's kingside was messed up, and he was going to have a hard time castling safely on either side, so I would have just castled and kept developing to keep my 2-piece development edge, then there would still be time to attack before Black castled: maybe Qd2, O-O-O, g4, maybe h4.
I disagree that the sacrifice was unsound. Though the other sacrifice Nxg5 simply wins the pawn, white's compensation is apparent in the game itself, as 17. Rxd5 is winning.
5.h4 is a huge problem for Black. It has the same idea as h3 but it's a lot more brutal.
8.Nxg5! is the move you're looking for since after 8...Bxe2 9.Qxe2 Black has no time to regain material because of the mate threat. In the game Black is still playing after 10...h5.

Nice analysis, especially 5. h4, which is definitely nasty. Black is definitely in trouble after 8. Nxg5.
The game was pretty tough one. one blunder i made as far as i know. i did aa queen and a rook sacriface yet won the game.
