Magnus Carlsen has beat a lot of grandmasters. He is officially the best player alive and I am a big fan of him. Here are some videos of him against other grandmasters and maybe you can learn and get better at chess by watching him. Here is the url to the video where Magnus goes against Hikaru. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2cbT3elGl8
Pause the video at these times 1:30 1:48 1:58 2:03 4:34 7:15 As you can see at the time 1:30 in the video Hikaru castles. That is actually a pretty good move because now his king is closed in so the chances of him getting checkmated soon is pretty low. When you see at the time 1:48 Magnus moves his E pawn to e5. This is a great move because the bishop that has developed to d6 will have to go back now. Especially that the D pawn is protecting E pawn so the knight cannot capture the E pawn. Now at 1:58 Magnus moves his D pawn to d5. That is a good move because the knight that has been developed has to go back now just like the bishop and because his pawn is now closer to getting promoted. Actually at 2:03 Magnus's move was actually not good because now he let the knight of Hikaru develop even more. At 4:34 Hikaru does an excellent move because now the bishop he moved is pinning the knight for the queen but Magnus blocks it by moving his queen to d3. At 7:15 Hikaru moves his rook to b5 that is a great move because he is not letting the pawn promote. These are the good moves I had enough time to find. They both did some pretty good moves. They both had a good accuracy and Magnus was really playing really good in the opening. The opening was pretty good too but they both did not play as good as the opening though.
