is that first comment meant to be sarcastic?  Fischer's "A Bust to the King's Gambit" presents good ideas, but not a full refutation.  As for "no one plays it any more on top level"... here is a game between Judit Polgar (#1 woman player in the world) and Veselin Topalov (FIDE World Champion in 2005-2006) from last year.  Granted, its rare at the top, but it still gets played.

yup, 27 Qb8# too for example. 

 

Interesting ideas though, and your're probably right in saying you should have snaffled the knight and rook

Also 27.Rb8#... Anyway, great ideas... 20.Rxd5 & 25.Rxb2 threating Rb8# was nice ones...

Yes, it was sarcastic, and related to this recent topic.

Move 27 is exactly when I stop calculating, and began to just move pieces and hope for a time win. If I only knew... AARrghh
