Lol This is fun. I had this funny game where the opponent was forced into a zugzwang and he had to move the king away from the bishop. It was a mate in 2. But I had only 0:00.1 seconds left on the clock. So, as he took his time to figure out that he's in zugzwang, I realized after premoving the moves that I won't be able to make it anyway.

Its sad because in bullet time is the key !! If your opponent have an bad position but up on time  he will be winning but winning by flagging is an shame...

GChess

This has happened to me. I'll think out a 3 move checkmate and see the pattern. Bang one move from checkmate I got flagged.... 3 times! #end of my bullet career.

Totally unrelated, but like 99% of my wins in rapid are because of opening mistakes. For instance, I literally accidentally trapped my opponents queen by playing naturally... I guess thats 1300 for you..

At the games in #4 & #31, it took me an instance to think it over. Found the solution but 'game over' appeared. At the rest there was a plan few moves before, I just didnt make it.

@JqH_415g nice trap. Poisoned pawn. Though your B on f4 looks like london system, it reminds also the poisoned pawn possible traps in the Torre attack, Spassky gambit.

JqH_415g

Yeah, I decided to sacrifice the pawn, for more development. As that pawn is weak anyways, its a very easy pawn I would give away. Yes I wanted to go for a London, but my opponent played an old benoni type opening. Nc4 was just a natural move for me.. turns out it traps the queen in style.

That sucks (and I've lost many games like that, too). Though if it's a recurring pattern, you might simply be mismanaging your clock near the end of the game.

Unless you've got a huge lead on the clock, then your last 5 or so seconds should be mostly (or all) pre-moves.

The trick, then, is playing decent chess while still pre-moving. Don't just pre-move awful moves, or you might end up getting mated, yourself.

Of course, doing this doesn't guarantee that your chess will be accurate at the end, but that's bullet for you. Sometimes you have to fight the clock instead of winning the position.

@KnightChecked maybe you're right. It's bullet. Time is in the rules and part of strategy. However my natural reaction is trying to win or checkmate. Im enjoying better the game this way
