Mistake?

Hello, 

Question about the game review. I sometimes find it difficult to follow which move the game review thinks are good and which are bad. 

In this game I sacrificed the knight (black took the bait) and then won the game with Queen on G7 (see picture). How is this sacrifice a mistake? 

This is not to gloat - I have more losses than wins due to these kind of traps. ^_^

A miss generally means you had a better option than what you played. You're winning either way, at least according to the engine evaluation.

My initial thought, without analyzing too deeply is that black can take on h2 with check, then take your queen, and after you take back, take the knight.

Rd1 looked most promising, rather than the knight move, winning material.

Oh my - thank you. That would have been a great move by black indeed. I had totally missed that (and luckily for me - black too).
