Haha, thanks. I think he made a couple of mistakes, 4...e5 (maybe e6 would be a bit tighter? 10...Nxe4, not sure really what the intent was, unless he just didn't realize his night would be stuck after the exchanges. Not sure if I saw that either at the time thought to be honest. I also think 22. c5 he should maybe have moved his knight and then moved f5 to support his passed pawn. On move 18 I didn't really want to trade bishops as I would have kept the pair, but I couldn't see a good move to save it so I exchanged. I was a minor piece up however.

yo dude! about time i had a look at the game you were talling me about a few weeks ago! ya know how busy i am with Vilnius and stuff like that :). I think you played pretty well this game! Your opponent slipped and you took full advantage of it! Last few moves were great as they took blacks king completely out of the game where it was tempting to play a Night move but king move is actually better as far as i can see!

I used to like Pe4 before in QGA but as far as i know GM and the like much prefer Pe3!!!!! Not 100% sure why but im sure if you did a bit of research on it you would find out why! Im not so sure i liked your opening fully but it worked out fine for you in th end! Been a while since i played QG. I remember my first club gaaamme aaaaaaaaaah. Lost miserably to a fork between my K + Q + R. Goddamn i was brutal in those days! Id throttly that Tom if I played him now(more than likely)

So it looks like he should've played 13... Nxb2 14 Bxf8 Nxc4 with reasonable compensation for the exchange.

What an interesting line!  If White's Queen's pawn falls (and I think it does) Black has better than reasonable compensation.

I enjoyed the game Aidan, very direct. I thought you were sharp. I don't think your opponent struggled quite as hard as he might have. He exchanged when it made no sense for him to exchange. It seemed he didn't have any inkling how to play for a draw.

That was my first game in an "In Club" Tournament. Since then I've played twice for the first team, winning one and drawing the other and won a long match for the second team which I will post soon.
