My first game
I think I might have broken more of the basic principles in this game, but it also allows for some interesting development. https://www.surveyzop.com/
"2.c5?? Gives you nothing, risks the queen, even gives white a chance to mate"
This seems wrong in every possible way! 2...c5 has been played several times at the very highest level, and Black has scored quite well with it. I fail to see any mate threat from White, and Black's queen is perfectly safe
"Let me explain my thinking: dxc5, in 3.white moves Bb5+. Black blocks with Bd7, white Qxd5. Black queen can go Qc7, but then what? Black now has two pinned pieces and white has control of the centre."
Do you mean White plays 3.dxc5? then 3...e6 4.Bb5+ Bd7 seems to be at least equal for Black. For that matter, 4...Nc6 looks OK too. Where is the loss of the queen? Where are the mating threats?

It’s unlikely the poster is still monitoring this thread from over 13 years ago. It has been idiotically resurrected by chessedout4.
