Indeed, but my mate was delayed, and his chances of mating me were actually pretty high. He forced my king in that square, and there was a pawn around there that was threatning my king, but I think I took it with a knight/bishop earlier.
By the way if you guys would like a full game analysis post it and I'll make it happen.
Recently played against a 1214 rated player. Quite good, but he could use some practice. Anyhow, at the end of the game I had a sligh disadvantage, my king was forced into a corner, and my only hope was to pin his king down.
I tried releasing the rook hoping he wouldn't go anywhere but on d2.
Quite a serious blunder.
Comment and post alternate moves of the white queen that could've saved him.
