You need to work on your thought process, checking all possibly captures, checks and all options for both sides, EVERY move.  Go to a longer time control if you cant do it at your current time control.  It has to be become a solid habit.  You can play faster once you have the thought process down.

You need to play longer time controls so you can take the time to properly evaluate all moves. When your opponent makes a move, were you expecting it? Why or why not? How does it change the position? What do you want to accomplish when you make a move? Every move must have a purpose. Before making the move, how does it affect your position? Any hanging pieces? Are you setting yourself up for a pin, fork etc? This takes time to do properly, especially when starting out.

This checklist might help.

I put in my two cents. I think the biggest weakness is that you leave pieces hanging and do not realize the threats that your opponent has made (it's one thing to not see that threat five moves ahead, many grandmasters miss those) but 10 Nd4 is is the sort of immediate threat that you should respond to. The other thing is a lack of understanding tactics. Do a few puzzles a day on chess.com (I think you get five free, or maybe 10 because Covid). Take your time on them, and play longer time controls as others said to work through these tactics in game. You can think 2-3 moves ahead, you did so to score the checkmate, but you need to look at different moves and see what results stem from them. I'll be honest, I need to be better at it too.

Thanks guys!! I really love this game and feel like I'm improving..... but a lot of times I'm lost after about 10 moves and get tunnel visions over certain things.

And how do I post the game on the forum like you guys did
