Looks like I forgot to read the "read this before you post thread". I will try to provide some more specific thoughts and reasoning and update the thread. If anyone has any meaningful comments to add in the meantime, they are appreciated.
Novice Battle

I attempting some type of london system opening and was looking to mate using my light square bishop, knight and queen.Move 10 bd3, I can't really explain why I did that, or how the piece survived hanging so long.I sacrificed my bishop on move 16 with the intent of getting the opposing king in a more manageable spot, with thoughts of moving the knight in to check again then moving the queen behind.Things kind of went awry, then discovered the pawn that was advancing on the g file could be important. Then after a series of errors (I think) by both sides, I eeked out the win.I guess my rook was just too appealing to him (I was hopoing it would be) and he didn't realize he was one move from being mated.
Like I said, any and all comments are helpful.Even if not directly pertaining to this game.
I'm posting this game for people to rip apart. I say novice battle because I've only been playing chess for a little over a month, I can't speak for my opponent though.
I'm sure there are tons of mistakes and missed opportunities and just plain ridiculousness that will confound 'real' chess players.
I'm trying hard to learn from my mistakes and I might as well post one of my games here for the community to see.I don't have a specific question regarding the game, but maybe some will arise from comments.
I guess I was pretty lucky to pull this one out in the end. I did play this having not slept in over 24 hours, though I don't think I would have played much differently if fully rested lol.
Please don't hold back, I can take critisism, especially if it leads to improvement,
Cheers.
