Opinions on spotting this move during chess game

I analyzed this part of the game and found out that I made a really big blunder on move 13, which is Bd3 since I was afraid to get mated in one. I want to know about this, but why the computer suggests me to play Nf5 on move 13? I am really not sure what to move in this position, since my f pawn is being pinned by the bishop and queen. I need help on this with some opinions about what I can do better in order to prevent bad positions from happening. I am currently aiming for at least getting 1200 in rapid, so sometimes I would post some positions that I need help with understanding in forum.

Your knight and h3 pawns are hanging. That is the primary concern.

If you move your knight to f3, your h pawn would still be hanging and if it falls, mate on g2 comes next.

If you move the knight to f5, all those threats are met.

White bishop to d3 will force him to move or you take it, even if he take you you can take with pawn on f2 and open up your castle line.
