well to me, your open is ok... you dont care too much for attacking the center
but whatever. Seems you fought well, for your rating. In taking a GM'S words dont get hung up on the openings. By the look of this game I would work on tacktics, and your end game... To me the end games shapes mid game moves,
and it seems like you had some trouble with shaping him away from your king
exposed... ( which is a no - no to have kind checkmatable in back row forever )
i.e open... and you gave up center so it created pressure in the back side court...
How you study your end game.. .well you will need to get a chess board,
and a few books and really recreate some games... as well as study your own games...I would play for 33% - study games of the best END GAMES WISE 33%
AND i WOULD study your games 33%.... just for a little while... my idea here is to
expose a WEAKNESS I see 2 of them...
1. Your end game vision
2. shaping the end game from mid game
The above should take you a few months and increase your rating maybe
100 points in my eyes... You seem far beyound in the opening your current rating
but the rest is why he is 1700 and you are where you are... Now as well
READ BOOKS ON PAWN STRUCTURES AS WELL... why? Well if you understand the science behind the pawn structure you can defend better, attack better and
even DEFEND AND ATTACK in the same move and this may shift into the end game aspects as well.. KEEP ON LOVING chess and if you are stuck look me up
or anyone else who is cool on here... good luck... As well... play some chess
with the litle chess partner on HARD...or get fritz i.e to track your games...
IDEA IS little chess partner is hard for your level and can show you where you fall apart as well if you cant find a game readily... fritz maybe be better for writing your game down and studying... as well as learning advanced end game....good luck again...
Here is a game I played at my local club against someone much higher rated and I think I did pretty well. Any ideas of where I could have improved?
