Poor Computer Analysis

So I just have one of those basic memberships that offers me 2200 computer analysis after I finish one of my games.  I compared what it sent back to me then ran it through the not so strong Fritz 5 (I thought Deep Rybka 3 would blow its analysis out of the water.  In a simple position where it was completely obvious that I am winning, the chess.com computer analysis said it was drawish while Fritz 5 said completely winning.  Makes me want to go back and check all my other games I had analyzed with the chess.com computer!

Are you certain you entered the position correctly? The FEN has black moving down and white moving up--which would make this a very unusual, if not impossible, position. From the FEN position as posted, white promotes first (with check) and goes on to mate.

If you assume that in the posted position black moving up (with the first rank on top, relative to the diagram above), it is a clear win for black.

Thanks for the heads up i have fixed the position

Yeah, it's hard to know what to say about that--don't even need a computer to tell you that black is winning this game, since every one of white's moves loses quickly.

Perhaps the basic computer analysis involves a fixed ply count? You can get out to five ply with the material still even (1 c4 dxc4 2 bxc4 Kd4 c5), though white's about to lose a pawn at that point, and is still clearly the loser.

That is very true. In fact it is almost comical how even a 1600 rated human given some time and effort can probably make a more decent analysis than even some of the best computers. That is one of the big advantages of having web pages like this- you can always find a human that could help you with the analysis of a game. If you happen to have friends on the site than they would be even more willing to go in depth and give ya the "whole nine yards" analysis that I mentioned.
