Queen's Gambit Declined: Tarrasch game as White

I eventually won this game, but I found it really tough.
This was a correspondence game and I probably spent about 3 to 4 hours thinking about it altogether.
The effort paid off by getting me to 1500 for the first time but there is no room for complacency I know that I need to learn from my mistakes in order to keep improving.

I welcome general observations about this game, but I have a couple of particular questions on it:

  • Am I making good trades or bad ones?
  • How well or badly did I play the endgame and what can I learn to improve?

Thanks in advance.

The idea of trading when you are up a material was good. However, I think I would be quite skeptical about some decisions if I were you:

1. On move 19, you played Ba3 which loses. Try to calculate again to see why this loses.

2. Simplifying in a winning endgame is good. But simplifying to one pawn advantage is not a very practical decision for 1500. You can make mistakes and end up to draw. The position was practically drawn after move 46. Bd7. I have let my stockfish move for 10 moves and it can't make any progress and it is still showing advantage. Maybe it is objectively winning endgame but as the pawn is blockaded, you can't push the pawn. So technically it should be a draw

By the way, why did you not protect or push the pawn on g4?

I was focused on my bishop and not wanting to lose it. I didn't think of 28...Qxg4+
