At move 39, I clearly had OPTIONS on the board. I was intentionally playing with the goal of sharpening my tactical outmanuevering, and while QxBd7 IS a free piece gained from that tactical maneuvering.... It didn't "feel like mate moves". Capture and allow black to regain tempo? Or just pester check force him to go... somewhere worse. He plays c7 again; mans is fine with the draw at this point. SO practice it is. I don't like this boring "trade pieces off" crap approach to chess just getting to a near equal endgame to dance around mostly empty threats until either plays some tiny fatal inaccuracy.
