anyone?
Sicilian Najdorf English Attack gone wrong?
I think you should've had the upper hand with :
15.gxf6 Nxd1; 16.fxe7 Qxe7; 17.Kxd1 0-0; 18.Rg1 followed by 19.f4.
I'm sure you saw that line but rejected it for some reason; can you tell me what it was please?
I'm not sure on latest theory but maybe key are hindering Black's N on b6 and covering the c4 square for keeping up the White attack. I might've went with 13. Bxb6 at least gaining the 13...Qxb6 tempo, 14. Nd5 Nxd5 15.exd5 Bd7 then maybe 16.h4 and plan the Kside attack. Black probably still has Qside threats but White might have equal or better Kside chances versus the 13. Ne2 text, especially if some lines can be opened there.
Check out Pilnik-Fischer in Fischer's 60 Memorable Games for somewhat similar ideas.
You are right to assume that 12.g5 b4? (13...Nh5/Nfd7 are the sane moves) 13.exf6 bxc3 14.Qxc3 is better than what you played: Black seems lost after 14...Bxf6 (taking with the pawn is also met by Qc6+) 15.Qc6+ Nd7 16.Rxd6 0-0 (16...Rc8 17.Rxe6+ is painful to look at) 17.Rxe6 (nothing wrong with being greedy here, 17.Bxa6 seems perfectly OK) 17...fxe6 18.Rg1 and Black's position is an ugly mess.
Oh, and the best way to avoid positional blunders like 12.Bxb6? is not even considering them.

I didn't see that to be honest
@yeres30 I considered it but I didn't find 14. Qf2! in the bxc3 sideline
@pfren after 14... gxf6 15 Qc6 Nd7 do I still play 16. Rxd6?
@Nckchrls nice game!
Thanks for your comments! With them I'm ironing out this English Attack :)
Why so? After ...gxf6 Black's king is stuck in the center (else Bh6/Rg1 etc comes), I see no good reason to be generous. Better become greedy, and take that freaking pawn at a6. It's not so much that white has an extra pawn and no weaknesses, as that Black has zero counterplay- almost all his pieces are clumsily placed.

I know your suggestion was infinitely better than what I played, but wouldn't 15... Bd7 rather than 15... Nd7 be better, where white only retains a positional advantage without winning further material?
I appreciate your insight

Hi guys!
Here was a blitz game that I played that I was quite disappointed with. Not only was I disappointed with my opening that failed, I was disappointed that this game cost me a top finish in the blitz tournament on the FIDE online server.
Any feedback would be appreciated to perfect my opening :)
Thanks in advance :)
