Siclian game #3 (Black)

This is my third game in the sicilian. I am posting for analysis and feedback to help me learn this opening. Thanks. By the way i get hammered in this one, just in case you thought i was only going to post my wins.

5. .. e5 after that move diagonal a2 - g8 is open for white bishop. I think that e6 was better

Hi Michael fun to see that you actually adress the sicilian, I myself ran away with d4 instead. In this game I pretty much agree with demonix that e5 was a mistake but I think you managed an unknown opening very well up until then.

Thanks fredrik. Does anyone know what black should be trying to achieve in this openings like a weakness for white that i could try and exploit next time?

You build a reasonable position, were it not for the 8...Na5?? blunder - either 8...Qc7 or 8...0-0 look playable instead.

As for theory, the main line is 2...d5 3.exd5 Nf6 with dynamic play for black. Usually, the d5 pawn push is a good answer to fight the e4-f4 pawn phalanx.

Thanks hicetnunc, that main line does look like it could turn into a very exciting game. Well im getting there, that is another reply to the sicilian that i can play against now, thanks.
