Sound sac?

Just wondering if this was a sound sacrifice on my part or did I miss a saving line for black?

It doesn't feel like a sound sac.

What if 21... Qf4 Then either you trade queens which is bad for you, or you mave it to h3 or h5 (22. Qh5 Nf3 with tempo and black is fine / 22.Qh3 e5 with tempo and black is fine) It will give black enough time either to develop the a defensive plan, or even a king march to the safer queen-side

Looks very reasonable to me.

Perhaps you should put it into engine,as a premium user you could use chess.com analysis, it's not the best one available, but it should probably be sufficient here.

P.S. a small reccomendation, just put "begin" in the diagram just before the sacrifice, so we would not need to go through entire game(and you only asked for a soundness of a sacrifice. Cool

Thanks for the advice Dragec, edit forthcoming.

It appears that sacrifice is unsound, Fritz 12 gives the following line

17.Qxh6 Qf4 18.Ng5 Qf5, black has successfully defended himself, and has a nice 2,30 advantage after couple more moves.

Btw, you could have had a nice 1,40 advantage had you choose 9.Bd2 instead of 9.Ne4.

Yup, totaly unsound. Oh well. I like that 9.bd2 idea though, someting to file away for future reference. Thanks Dragec.

Of course it is unsound, 17...Nh7 is a weird blunder since it serves no purpuses at all. Like Upabushtrack said, 17...Ng5 is much better, and black stands better with no problems.
