Stockfish Analysis Using ChessX - Chess Forums

Hi all, I'm trying to use ChessX (mac OS) to analyze using the Stockfish-7-64 executable that can be downloaded from the stockfish site. However, I keep getting a message that says "There was an error (1) running engine Stockfish-7-64." It works fine running the (default) Stockfish-6-64, so I'm kind of confused about what's going on. Can someone help?

I have no idea about chessX as I don't personally use it, but I personally have ScidvsMac on my mac and stockfish 7 works perfectly well with it, so if you can't solve your problem changing the program you use might be a good solution.

There are different Stockfish builds for different machines depending on the hardware features supported. You may need a engine build supported by your hardware.
