You might look at using the bishop in endgames with pawns on both flanks.
Stopping Connected Passed Pawns

I'm not sure if your position given is about stopping passed pawns, but more like generating your own mating threats.

As for a protected passed pawn (protected by a "connected" pawn)...
They are strong, because they can only be attacked by pieces, which would be too costly. So, blockading them becomes the only way to stop them from advancing to promotion. A knight is good for this, as it can block the advanced pawn and attack the protecting pawn.
An example game provided in (The Complete Manual of Positional Chess):
Pay attention to White's knight on moves 20, 21, 24, 28, 30.
Now look at White's pawn on e6 at the end.
The engine suggests that this position is equal or slightly better for black. But I don't think it is possible to stop those 2 connected passed pawns. Can someone come up with an Idea to stop these pawns?
Secondly, is there a book or an article that analyse positions containing passed pawns and plans related to it?
