Sub 1200 game. Why did my opponent resign?

Was my pawn promotion really that inevitable? I like my position better, but was a resignation really necessesary? In the pictured position is it blacks move. My last move was b4.

People resign for many reasons..... it may not have been related to the game at all. If this was a timed game, he/she could have been called away by the boss/wife/kids or remembered an important event or something. In such cases its great if the other person will accept a draw and let you walk away unscathed, but usually that is not the case. I am not one to just walk away from the computer and let it time out, so if I can't finish the game for some reason, I'll resign. I've resigned winning positions for that reason.
