that was fun... i wish it was as easy to see that sort of thing otb. im rarely thinking checkmate in the middlegame.

yeah i posted it because i found myself in that position a lot, so i thought you guys did too, just another concept for yall. Id post a lot more puzzles but for some reason i cant postem them in that section
Thanks for posting such a great checkmate combination. We get to learn a lot from such games. I only wish I can see such combinations OTB. Strategising for the checkmate in the opening itself is a great art...
Very good. The clearing of the file for the Queen is difficult to see in the beginning, but Qf5 is the coup-de-grace

I knew it that position from a spanish chess book that I am studying. Yeah... really interesting. The themme probably was bishop sacrifices on f7 (tactics).

I've seen that puzzle before: I remember the "smothered mate" of the queen! But alas, I still didn't figure it out despite having already seen it, although I didn't look at it very long this time.
