This type of opening is good or my opponent use a bad opening?

He moved wrong and lost the queen, but I thought he would move the queen to one of the corners, then I would to give check with the horse or the bishop.

At your level, I would recommend using something like

http://www.365chess.com/

or some other opening database, and compare your moves to what other people normally play. That should give you at least a slight idea of how a proper opening should look (by way of example and pattern recognition if you see the same positions enough).

Also recommended is, of course, a book on general opening principles and ideas.
