hmmm
if you where black i think you should have used your other knight (Kc6) thereby limiting white advancing pawn to d4.. or was this the "new" part of it ?
Trying something a little different

could you have played 17. Nb6, hitting the N and the B? just a thought.
Do you mean 15...Nb6?
16. Ndxe7+ Kh7 17. Bb3 is nasty

2... d6 is about the oldest "new move" I've seen. It's one of the main lines (perhaps even the mainest).
By the way, 7... Ng4 is dubious because after 8 Bb5+ you are pretty much forced to give up castling with 8... Kf8.
Yeah, it looks like 16... N5b6 would've caused White some trouble...so I think he should've just played 16 Bxd5. Also, 15 h4 looked strong.
By "new move" I was talking about new in terms of whether I've played it or not. :)
I've made mistakes automatically recapturing before and I realise I completely misplayed the opening. :P
Here's last nights club game.
I decided to try a new opening, which didn't go well.
Fortunately my opponent gave me a bishop, then a rook, the lastly his queen.
I certainly won't be playing 2...d6 for a while!
