up 2 points, exchange queens?

With the help of Alekhine's exchange variation and some sharp tactics I found myself up 2 points with good position against a much stronger opponent.  Black to move I would like to know what the better thinking is in a situation like this.  Take the queen and play what should be a won position or keep the queen in play and go for more fine tactics.  I kinda wussed out and took the queen but regretted it as this a fine tactical game and well, you just don't always get to play good games like that.  As always hearing from you highly rated players is what make this site great.  Thanks in advance!

well, i'm not highly rated, but i think you did the right thing.  your queen can only safely move to two places and neither of them look too good to me.

Don't unessisarily complicate things! It doesn't help.

I would trade queens in that position regardless of who I am playing. You don't have an attack here, you are just up in material, so trading pieces and winning the endgame works fine.

If you're ahead a Bishop for a pawn, you aren't ahead two "points, you're ahead a Bishop for a pawn. If you have a Rook for a N and two pawns, you are probably behind in material!

Whats you opinion on Rook Pawn for Knight Bishop?

Hypocrism

Definitely. Imagine all the pieces off the board except 1 rook each. His isolated pawn will be a target and you will win the endgame. Go for it.

Hey Sangwin, you might wanna have a read at this thread:

There is some discussion on this exact issue. Hope you find it useful!

Glad you liked it. I found it very useful!

As well as the articles posted by fizzi87 and fezzik you may also like to look at this forum topic, especially the opening post. http://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/read-this-before-you-post I will however highlight the most important part of the post here: "5. Never post a game or a position from a game that is ongoing. Asking for help with ongoing games is unsportsmanlike and unethical. Need we say more?" If I was weedon (your opponent) I'd ask the website to automatically give me a victory. If I was running the website I would actually disqualify you from the whole of that tournament. Here is the game in question: http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=41238883

I am sorry for how this looks.  I would never post a position for advice on a game to make a move.  I play around 30 online games at a time and they do start to look alike.  Sometimes after 8 or so hours of chess I just like post and read on threads and I have alot FEN's saved.  I did not and would not cheat on a game.  Like what would the point of chess be if you were just going through a book of moves.  This was a geniune question based on a position long expired.

well now i just feel dirty and wrong.

There is no such thing as "points" in chess.  You were up two "pawns", not points.
