Was a draw my best option?

Here is a game I played as black where I think I had a small advantage for most of the game but could not find a way to make that into a win, what should I have done differently.

You are a much better player than I, but I don't see how doubling your pawns on move eight gives you an advantage.  Perhaps not a disadvantage, but not an advantage...

doubling the pawns on move 8 is actually very good.  black gets backup for the d5 push, plus a half-open f-file for the rook once he castles.  what's not to like?

why are people so afraid of doubled pawns?

also, i think that 16...Nh5 is premature.  you already know his knight wants to go to d5: why not take it away with c6 first?  still, i do agree that your advantage wasn't big enough to have winning chances.
