What makes the engine move better?

Both my move and the engine’s move take the pawn. The engine says I “overlooked” the undefended pawn.
Engine’s move: If I take with the pawn, I attack the knight and get a pawn.
My move: If I take with the knight, I am preparing to fork their rook and get a pawn. Even if they threaten to take my knight, I can just trade knights and double their pawns.
