Where did I go wrong? I should cancel my chess.com membership?

I will give the usual advice i always give, because this question is asked REPEATEDLY:
1. Follow Opening Principles.
2. Youre hanging pieces.
3. Youre missing simple tactics.
4. Youre playing blitz/bullet, when you need to play slower time controls.

1. You posted no games.
2. You have played 123 games of 10 minute chess. To fast to learn anything.
3. Quality over quantity. Doing 100 tactics a day doesn guarantee improvement, if youre not learing the patterns. You would be better off doing a few a day, and making sure you understand the pattern, and motif.
4. What game are you referring to? It isnt in your post.
5. How an i, or anyone tell you what you did wrong, when there is no game posted?
6. I was going to post a game of yours illustrating what i was talking about, but you said you are quitting.
7. You have been a member for less than 3 weeks. What kind of improvement were you expecting? Improvement takes time. But judging by the fact that you play G10's, youre quitting, and blaming chess.com? I can understand why you arent improving.

6.Bf7+ gives up the bishop for a pawn. That is blundering a piece.
10.Qc3 You have moved your queen 3 times in the first 10 moves. This is not following opening principles.
12.Nc4 loses a pawn.
15...Nf6 and youre a piece down, but black blundered. Thats playing "hope chess"
24.Qc6 bc6 25.Re6 wins a pawn, and blacks pawn structure is weak.
27.Kf1?? Qh1+ 28.Ke2 Re5+ loses the rook.
33.h4 advances the pawn without protection, which loses a pawn.

What FishEyedFools says is true. You need to focus on quality over quantity. Play slow games. I recommend correspondence (daily) chess as you have as much time as you need to think things through. It's very unlikely you'll face cheaters at your level.
When you solve puzzles you need to try to solve the whole thing in your head before making a single move. This means that you need to find the best moves for both sides. Don't just guess your way through. You need to practice good chess habits and you can't do that if you don't give yourself enough time to think.

This post is completely outrageous. Quoting Bambi, moaning about losing (best way to learn!) and vague suggestions of cheating opponents ... sort it out son.

The best way to learn is simply making learning & playing the game part of your daily routine. Set goals such as 15 Tactics, 5 Lessons & 2 Games each and every day until you do it habitually. Play with an increment/ longer time controls so you can actually learn from your mistakes and spot weaknesses in your play. Analyze & repeat the tactics and lessons until you get them 100% right. The last & most important thing I can tell you is to be patient. Being around 1000 rating sucks, but the rewards at the end of the road are truly worth it. Hang in there!

...
(You also didn't comment on the fact that chess.com guarantees improvement, and I have seen none. This furthers my opinion that its a gimmick for money, and doesn't really help anyone. Thanks to your answer, I'm leaning more towards cancelling now. For that, I thank you )
The site doesn't guarantee you will approve. They provide tools and it is up to you to make use of those tools and try to imorove with them.

I feel you, dude. Two years of diligent study and I’m worse than I was when I knew nothing. I could give an hour dissertation on the game at an Ivy League college but as I’m understanding it now, that doesn’t mean you can play very well. Passive knowledge is what I’ve gained only. I’m dying on the vine here, ready to throw in the towel for good. It sucks sucking. I do all the suggested study habits listed. Nothing. Loss after loss. I get somewhere and lose 200 rating points again. Unbelievable. I have a high IQ. No matter. It’s like pitch, I think. You either hear it, or you can’t. FML..
Wow mickynj!
I do not know if what you posted will help ThePiousPatriot but I would definitely love if some higher rated player than me would have analysed here one of my loses the way you did his!
Keep the good attitude, regardless of feedback!

Based on Pious Patriots responses to lots of good feedback, I'm really not sure why anyone would still be willing to help him at this point. He literally just said he needs to work on endgame because he only mis-moved his king, "that's all." And as to references of cheating and GM level moves... Hey Pious? At what point during the game against asd55 were there "GM level moves?" And how would you be able to tell? You do realize that it's possible for humans to have good moves and even excellent moves in a game that also has blunders, right? Finally, to not give thanks to fisheyedfools (actually you went out of your way to make sure he knew he wasn't being thanked) when he DID actually provide some helpful feedback is just ridiculous, sort of like this thread. He gave you plenty of good feedback and did not insult your intelligence. He was absolutely spot on as far as I'm concerned. You are ungrateful and are not really listening to the feedback you are getting. For instance, "fish eyes fools, everything you listed that I did "wrong" got me winning on points with a king pawn endgame." No, it didn't. If you go back and look at that comment and the game you would see that your statement is false. So, to wrap up... TheRiseAndFall perhaps put it best when he wrote,
"This post is completely outrageous. Quoting Bambi, moaning about losing (best way to learn!) and vague suggestions of cheating opponents ... sort it out son."

Hilarious thread...
@ThePiousPatriot, yes, you should cancel your Chess.com membership, if only because your attitude is bass-ackwards.

To the OP:
There is not one person on this planet that can make you a better chess player. All anyone can do is give YOU the tools to make YOU a better chess player. It its up to YOU to use those tools, and use them wisely. With that said, i am offering YOU some tools. Again...it will be up to YOU to use them...or not. That too is up to YOU.
Opening Principles:
1. Control the center squares – d4-e4-d5-e5
2. Develop your minor pieces toward the center – piece activity is the key
3. Castle
4. Connect your rooks
Tactics...tactics...tactics...
Pre Move Checklist
1. Make sure all your pieces are safe.
2. Look for forcing move: Checks, captures, threats. You want to look at ALL forcing moves (even the bad ones) this will force you look at, and see the entire board.
3. If there are no forcing moves, you then want to remove any of your opponent’s pieces from your side of the board.
4. If your opponent doesn’t have any of his pieces on your side of the board, then you want to improve the position of your least active piece.
5. After each move by your opponent, ask yourself: "What is my opponnet trying to do?"
1. Stop playing blitz, and bullet. Play longer time controls of at least G30, or longer.
2. Follow Opening Principles:
· Control the center.
· Develop minor pieces toward the center.
· Castle.
· Connect your rooks.
3. Study tactics...tactics...tactics. One of my favorite quote is this: "Until you reach Master, your first name is tactics, your middle name is tactics, and your last name is tactics”.
4. Double Check your moves. Before making a move, ask yourself: "Are my pieces safe?"
5. After your opponent moves, ask yourself: "What is my opponent trying to do?"
6. Analyze your games WITHOUT a chess engine, then have someone stronger go over the games, or post them here for review.
7. DO NOT memorize openings.
8. Learn Basics Mates:
· K vs. KQ
· K vs. KR
· K vs. KRR
9. Learn Basic King and Pawn endings.
· KP vs. K
· Opposition
10. Have Fun!
Within a chosen time limit (I use 2 minutes), setup random positions from a database and you have to identify:
- every piece/pawn that can move to deliver check ("Check Training"), or
- every piece/pawn that can be captured ("Attack Training"), or
- every undefended piece/pawn ("Defense Training").

up on points does not mean check mate . I am a player that tries to comeback when I am down, I look at my screen and I have a board set up to view the game with real pieces ,gives me better perspective. the end game takes many many losses to get good at ....don't get frustrated ....everyone loses....enjoy the game. appreciate your opponents competition......its not just tactics its a attitude.
