Ha ha! too true. I only looked at the final position. I'm starting to guess that White resigned out of disgust at his own play.

I am unsure as to why he resigned. I see several mistakes in the game, where material or postion could have been won, but was missed out on.

His King is kinda stuck in the middle to a degree without careful play, that could be a problem, but he should manage to be able to continue at this point in time without being in to bad of shape.

I can not answer for him, you should message him if you keep thinking "why?"

You wonder why he resigned?

See the resignations in this tourney:

The resignation you showed is not weird enough.

It's like he spent all his time planning to push his pawn to a5 and trap the bishop in, and when he finally got the perfect opportunity to do so, he chose not to.

Avatar of TheDestructivePawn

My best guess is that he noticed that in order to castle, it would mean having to move his bishop which is currently blocked by his queen. He would have to his queen losing tempo and move his bishop or attempt to "fianchetto" his bishop.

My other guess is that you will know he is attacking your queen with his bishop, and that you will move your queen.

You're right, he actually was playing a good position. But, he wouldn't give up on such a good position so quickly. It probably must be he ran out of time.

 You're welcome,

I resigned because I wanted to make a new start. Not only this game, but all my games, about 80.And my score fell under 900.Now,I take only challenges for "one day per move" games, with scores between my score and my score + 100.

Presently,my score is 1073.And if my score remain a too long time without increasing ,I will cease to play chess.

It is my choice.

This is a game I played against a much stronger opponent. My opponent resigned but I don't konw why. What did they see that I could not???

He didn't see anything that you don't. Three pawns up and same coloured Bishops should be a routine win via simplification. Maybe he was sandbagging, who knows?

Avatar of MyCowsCanFly

You've shown two games where someone has resigned against you. You seem to be seeking a shared explanation. Do you suspect a consipracy?

Is there an element on this site that targets the unsuspecting for resignation?

METAPHORE,

I understand you wanting a fresh start, and I understand you wanting to increase your rating. But understand this. If you play against stronger players you will always loose more than you win. This is how you improve. Don't focus too much on your rating, focus more on improving your game, and have fun playing the game. No need to quit because your rating is not increasing. Instead, put a plan in place to improve your game. Like everything else, the more you put into your chess...the stronger you will get.

All The Best.
