Why is the accuracy so low?

My most recent game, I felt like I played pretty well. Yes, my opponent made many mistakes and ended up resigning, but why was my accuracy only 21.4%???

Thats really not important. Just be proud! The low score is mainly because the game was so short, so your mistake at move 16 has to big an influence.

Because you are playing these passive fianchetto moves instead of occupying the center. The computer wants to see forward moves that control the most squares.

In the line Black played (the 3. ... Qd8 variation of the Scandinavian) his main disadvantage is lost time. So your choice of a double-fianchetto was not optimal, since it is a very slow way to develop and you are losing that edge in time that Black has given you.

Move 14 you could have won the queen.

All this accuracy stuff is a waste.  It serves no useful purpose, and does nothing to improve your game.  Its an ego feed.

My pleasure Samuel.  And kudos to you for acting like a responsible, mature person.

It’s primarily based on how close are your moves to the most widely & successful moves in the system

What do you think about bacon butties with ketchup on them? Damn they're perfect

No idea what a "bacon buttie" is.

It sounds like the south end of a pig that's headed north.

You played poorly. You won because your opponent played worse.

As people already pointed out, I played well given what my opponent did, but didn't play the best available moves.

Every chess game in history is won because the loser played worse. This isn't some revelation you came up with.

I'm not asking people to take time out of their day, nor am I compelling them to do so. If you want to help a guy out, go ahead. If not, face your reality and go back to your busy life. Jesus Christ, some people...
