Would I have won either way??

http://www.chess.com/livechess/game.html?id=49890020   First, the reason I post games i've won rather than lost is that I don't think I'll fix the problem if you just tell me what I did wrong. If you show me what I did right, I already know how to do that thing, and will continue to do it, and omit the rest. I would like an end-game analysis on this one. Thanks. Smile

So, my question is would I have won this game, if my opponent didnt blunder on move 32? after 31.e3 if we  traded queens I think I could have forced that pawn to promote.  If he moved 32. Rf4 would allow forced mate

you had 2 connected passed queenside pawns, a center passed pawn, and there were a queen and a rook each on the board.  That's a completely winning position for anyone with any kind of technique.

32. Rf4 does give you a forced mate if you push the pawn.

32. Qxd4 is not an immediate loss for him though. He has to play Rf1 after that, but assuming he does, you can't promote the pawn. He can take it if he's willing to trade rooks.

You should still win eventually, since you have 2 extra pass pawns. So yeah.

Actually, you don't have to worry about trading queens: 32 Qxd4 ef+ 33 Qxf2 Rd1+ forces a won pawn endgame.

Also if 32 Rf8+ there's 32... Rxf8 33 Qxd4 e2 and the pawn will queen.

But you didn't have to hang the knight on move 28 either (you could've played 28... e3 there immediately).

Btw to be honest I really can't figure out what your first paragraph means...

- good, so I didnt just win because of a mistake x)

- now that is high level thinking, I didn't know my opponent had that option, and if he did that, I might have resigned, not knowing my pawn can definately queen.  wow.

- I was thinking one thing and one thing only ,..." that rook is mine", my opponent showed me that I was dreadfully mistaken, so that's a mistake I won't be making again.

-sorry, I jumbled those words, but nevermind that first paragraph.
